Skilled Nominated Visa Subclass 189

The General Skilled Migration Scheme allows you to migrate or remain permanently in any area of Australia, if you have relevant qualifications, experience and skills. You can apply independently of an employer, or where a sponsored employment-based option is not available.

To apply for this visa, you will need to be highly skilled worker and have received an invitation to apply. Your immediate family members can be included as dependents in your application.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the grant of a visa via the Skilled Migration Scheme, you must be able to meet a points test which is based on a number of factors which include:
Nominated skill or occupation
Age
English language ability
Qualifications
Work experience
Partner details (if applicable)
If the Expression of Interest is successful and an invitation to apply has been received, the applicant will also need to meet the criteria for the visa application, which includes:
Occupation on the eligibility list
Suitable skills assessment
Evidence of meeting your points test
Age
English language ability
Health
Character history
